In"This PC" when I open a drive/folder, it opens up a window "This PC"

    Windows 10 Version 21H1 (OS Build 19043.1875)

This problem is very frustrating, Whenever I double click or right click and open a folder or drive, it just opens another folder of the starting point of "This PC" or "Quick Access", whatever your preference is setup to. You can change in settings, the default Opening window is "Quick Access". It does not open my folder or drive what so ever. It just opens another folder of "This PC" or "Quick Access" over and over again every time I try to open something. I am able to open a folder or drive if I right click and select open in another window, but I have to do that every time so I have a bunch of folders open to find one thing. I am allowed to open programs, pictures, videos, ect once I am in that particular items folder but it might take 4 or 5 open windows to do so. I have tried to find solution everywhere but I have been unsuccessful. I've tried to change keyboards, unplug wireless keyboard, change my mouse, upgrade to Widows 11, revert back to Windows 10 (Which I prefer), but no luck. Please help, this is very frustrating. Thank You!

Oh, I want to add that this problems started when I upgraded/built my new PC. I have a different Motherboard, graphics card, Ram, cooler, and casing. The drives I have are the same as my previous computer setup where this problem did not occur.

    Hi, you might try
How to Reset and Clear Quick Access Pinned Folders in Windows 10
to see if that has any effect.

if you create a new user for test purposes and log in as that user, do you see the same thing or not?

Similarly, with the original user, if you boot to Safe Mode?

    Thanks.

This sounds like the same issue discussed in this thread.

Thank You Les Ferch, that thread helped me out so much!! I used "Account Profile Fixer"!! It was free and easy and instant to use. Thank You so much!! I was stumped until then. Thank You to this thread as well for being so helpful and quick to respond. Sorry it took me a couple days to respond. I was on a little Vacation. Have a good day everyone.
