    Help!!! why can't i find Hosts file in system 32


    My hosts files disappeared in my C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc. Can some one help me to solve this?

    Strange It's there on my win 10 pro and home edition

    If you search around you will probably be able to add the files your self, another thought is you may have to show hidden files,there is a tutorial on TenForums to show you how to do that if you don't know

    Try giving (copy/paste) %SystemRoot%\System32\drivers\etc\hosts in the Run dialog and choose Notepad to open.

    Yup, that's the problem. Mine was not visible until I did this.

Hi I tried to block some sites in that way but although I cleared DNS cache (ipconfig /flushdns) ater editing the hosts file, I'm still able to access those sites. Googled about it but seems everything has done Ok and wonder why I can't use this...

I was just wondering whether there has been any mention of updates for NTFS. I remember some time ago they were thinking of changing away from NTFS but that never happened. So do we know if NTFS has been changed/modified in any way for Windows 10?
