This discussion has veered way off track. Most laptops are shipped with Windows preinstalled, but can easily be wiped and replaced with any other OS you wish. If your order the laptop online, they can be ordered without an OS.

You are not going to get much love for Linux here on this Windows Forum, so best not to bring it up.

Yes! Think again. Deepin One of the best for anyone wanting to transition from windows. Slow install, but once you're in! it is user-friendly and help's you to leave Windows. Testing in a VM since yesterday... I Like It!

There are easy options and this is one of them. ''Windows is really where it's at!'' It seems to be, but there are other options if you are willing to learn. And I am and so are others thankyou...

yes, like i said ,in the beginning one thinks this is the bombs and you gonna learn this and be cool and do things no1 else even know of . And in the beginning it was nice and a challenge and so on ,but eventually you'll find it a hassle to research and ask around for even most mundane things one wants to do .
On top of that (in my case at least ) every 2-3 months my pc would just stop and nothing works and i'd have to do a fresh install, granted took me about half an hour to get it where it was before (installed/updated and all my stuff backed-up to original)...had lots of practice i must have re-installed about 20 times.
And this didn't happen cause i didn't knew how to keep system up ,it was just one of those things that no1 on any forum knew how to solve ...
Eventually got tired of all this and installed win10, never once since then my pc just stopped ,its on 24/7 with no hiccup.
Don't get me wrong ,Linux is good and more powerful than windows , but it's a challenge ,specially when things don't want to work like one is used to it works on windows .
Knock yourself out though ,and enjoy ...

back to OP's original question ...if you have to ask that ,changes are you might have a real battle coming with running Linux

Every 2 to 3 months??? I've talked to different Linux forums and have never heard complaints about having to re-load their systems every 2 to 3 months. Could be a hardware conflict from a Linux update specific to the hardware on your system. As if Windows ever did that... I'm thinking of just pulling my SSD with windows and putting one of my 500GB WD Blue SSDs in a load Deepin and just run it for a time on my main system. And if I don't get along with it! 2 minutes later I'm back on Windows. I think I'll make it a weekend project. Sound like fun. And it's all about that you know. If Hardware, Playing with different OS systems and software is not fun for you? You need to find something that's fun for you like maybe checkers.

I just ran across this site. Laptop With Linux Or, Without! You can configure a high-end system or a moderate depending on your wallet. All with NO OS If You Wish. "See The Pic" And all the hardware that you like on your new system... It's worth a look, check it out. For me in my 2022 tax return... I may get one. I have to put together a package and build one. I have maybe $2000.00 to build it. I could do it. Sounds like FUN!

The installation on my slow HDD took about ten minutes. It is not as good as Windows, but I have been using it for months.
