    Probably a silly question

Again, to make an excuse, I'm old and slow,
Sometimes in the morning when I'm trying to access my daily online newspaper, I can't get it. I think that is because so many people are trying to access the same site at the same time.

Are some sites able to be accessed by more people than other sites?

    Hello, dearelliot.

Yes sir, that is certainly possible. Their server could be too busy.

As long as you can wait a few minutes then access it, you have nothing to worry about.

The number of requests a WEB server can processes can vary Enormously, from few hundreds to millions per seconds depending on the scale of the hosting servers and their network.

As an experiment, you may change your dns provider from the standard ISP to another such as for instance Google (8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4). Maybe you see a difference.

Changing the DNS provider is not relevant for a "fixing" a slow-responding web site.

    A question for "dearelliot":

Is that the only site that is affected? Do you get good access to other sites at that time?

My own experience with a specific streaming site is different.
