NTFS is not that widespreaded for USB thumbdrives (and not that useful). Most probably FAT32 or ExFAT.

Your screenshots in Post #7 show conflicting information. Disk Management shows a drive with a drive letter that is partitioned and Healthy but RAW.
The Minitool shot shows a disk that is Unallocated Space, no partition which is RAW. So, TestDisk could not find a Partition either.
There are other RAW data recovery options like the one I suggested in Post #2 DiskGenus in my signature. There is also Easeus Data Recovery , MiniTool's data recovery among others. TestDisk is the only truly Free data recovery software. All others are free to download and scan, if they can't find anything, then you don't have to pay, but if you want to recover the data, you have to buy the app.
Do you guys know if the testdisk project is dead? It seems that the tool is not beeing updated since 07/07/2019 ?
Hi @F111
In my perception, unless a volume exists one cannot format and assign a drive letter. So I really don't know why TestDisk does not find a partition. I can use bootice to check sector 0 of your Lexar and ascertain whether the partition table exists or not. I will not do that right now but reserve it for later.
Since you have already installed PW, let us run Partition Recovery Wizard in it. Samuria's favourite theme "Raw means it's lost the partition you need free partition recovery and the files will be there after it has lost its parttion"
Launch Partition Wizard. On the left pane click on Partition Recovery Wizard > Next > Select your faulty Drive > Next > Full Disk > Next > QuickScan > Next. Allow the quick scan to complete. At the end of the quickscan you will get a window showing all the found partitions. Post a screenshot of it ( only that Window. No need of any background). After you have taken the screenshot click on Cancel button on that Window and close PW. You can run it again if need be.
If QuickScan doesn't find a partition, do a full scan. We shall not leave anything to chance.
If it does not work, then run DiskGenius as suggested by spunk. I hadn't used it anytime and so may not be able to guide you. Perhaps @spunk can help you if needed.
Most programs that recover files from a RAW drive can only recover a bunch of files without the original folder/file structures and names.
If it comes to that we can still do it free with Photorec in TestDisk. Let us see.
Guide to using PhotoRec recovery software. - Windows 10 Forums
its not very encouraging.
you could see if diskgenius portable says anything different Free Download DiskGenius Online
As spunk and SIW2 suggested, try Disk Genius. ( When downloading the portable version select the one that is appropriate for the bit version of your Windows 7)
Before doing that, in PW9.1, select your Lexar, on the left Pane click on Surface Test. When surface Test completes, post the screenshot. Most probably there are some bad sectors.
If Disk Genius does not help, I would like to see the contents in sector 0 where the partition tables exist, using boot ice. That later.
