"Turn Off Screen After x Amount Of Time" Not Working

    Hello friends,

    Miss me? I miss you

As the title reads, Windows is not respecting certain "Turn Off Screen After x Amount Of Time" settings. For example, if I set it to turn the screen off after 1 Minute, the screen will turn off after one minute. 5 Minutes works. 10 Minutes works. But setting it to turn off after 1 Hour, the screen disregards this setting and turns off after 5 minutes. Is there some sort of mandatory power management at play here I'm not aware of? I've tried unplugging all USB devices and the issue still persists. Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Version 21H2 (OS Build 19044.1706)
    Laptop: Alienware Area-51M R2
    Monitor: Gigabyte M32U

    Hi there:

I would check your power and display settings so they are in sync.

Settings -> Power and Sleep .
    Control Panel -> Power Options.

    Then go here:

Screen won't turn off after the specified time in Windows 11/10

    Post back and advise.

    Thanks.

    One more thing...

If the above does not work, you can also try this free program:

    Sordum Monitor Off v1.1

    It's safe.

Reset your Power plan to Defaults and go from there.
Make sure there are no "Allow wake Timers" enabled.

Start out with your monitor set to go off after 5 minutes and your PC set to go off after 10 minutes.
    And just keep trouble shooting.

I had to do it on my X299 after the last CU.
