    Some Desktop icons Disappear from View--still present in Explorer


    I keep a lot of icons on my desktop. Every so often, a few will disappear from view, but are still present in File Explorer. How do I make them visible again? And is there a way to prevent it?

    Current Win10 is 21H1--but this intermittent problem has occurred for years.

    Does this problem occur when you create a new icon on your desktop. When I did this recently, an icon I use only every day just "disappeared" Turns out that Windows rearranged icons on me, and moved this icon from the top right to the very bottom right on my screen. At first I simply didn't notice the move.

When I click on a blank area of my desktop, all of my icons disappear. If I click on the task bar, they return but if I try to launch a program, they all disappear and the program doesn't launch.
