new toolbar icon / triangle, pencil, leaf

This icon with a triangle, pencil, and leaf appeared beside my search bar today and the toolbar no longer works properly.

When I click on an icon in the toolbar to open it I just get the circular "wait" icon which is larger then normal. If I click on the icon again the screen goes white for a few seconds and then comes back and things seem to work normally.

The problem started just when this new icon appeared. What is it and how do I get rid of it to hopefully solve my problem?

Sorry, I realized that after hitting POST. I found no way to edit my post to correct it.

Have you recently installed or changed any programs? Or just received a Windows Update? (See Update History)
Just Windows Update

Have you tried using a System Restore point - if you have any suitable ones?
Restore failed, that's when I decided to post

Diagnostic check: create a new user for test purposes- log in as that user. Do you see the same or not?

Random thought - you could try
Change Search Box Text in Windows 10
to reset this.

I've done this just now, will see if that fixes the problem
