Change file date to modified date

I have a friend who has some jpg and mov files on his old iPhone (no longer capable of connecting to the cell network or Apple Cloud) so he can't use the Export / Export method. He wants to copy the files from the iPhone to a flash drive and maintain the original date, time is less important. This is for presentation in a law suit he is involved in, and he needs to preserve the date to maintain continuity of the pictures and movies as they are shown. He could write a script so he could say when each jpg or mov was taken but it would be better if each one had the correct date.

He has several hundred files in total so if I can automate this for him that would be great. Any suggestion or batch/powershell examples also very welcome.

    Thank you.

Is it possible to zip the files and then copy the ZIP file onto a flash drive?

    Rich,

How is the iPhone connected to the computer?
    - As a drive that appears in File explorer with a drive letter?
    or
    - As a device that appears in File explorer without a drive letter?

    All the best,
    Denis

If it has a drive letter, the OP may consider using FastCopy, which will not change the timestamps.

Matthew, this may work. I'll try it Tuesday when I have access to the iPhone again. Right now all I have is a zip drive with some of the files from the iPhone on it.
    Thank you.

Edit: Problem here will be space. I can do some at a time if necessary but it looks like the Bulk Rename Utility will do what I need.

This looks like it may do the trick. I'll give it a try and see how it goes. Many thanks.

Edit: Works perfectly, allows me to change all file Date Created to Date Modified values including those in sub-directories. I have to do a rename but I can live with that.

    @Ztruker

Try EXIFToolGUI. I use it only all the time when I forget to change the time zone on my DSLR, or I have some other issue involving file dates. The nice part of this utility is that it fixes all the different fields where Windows (or the photo) stores a date/time.

Works just fine on Win 10 Pro 64. ExifToolGUI

You select a folder to work on, then the tool displays all the files in that folder. You can use the usual Windows tools to select which tools to work on. Sure beats using EXIFtool directly, which is a command-line tool with a large number of options.

The following one changes the timestamps without renaming the files:
