How to get rid of a popup notification

W10 - I have been trying to update my phone. In the process I must have downloaded something from
android-p-beta.en.softonic.com. I now have a random popup ads.

If I close them, they will appear again randomly. How do I get rid of this aggravation?

I looked in the registry RUN and Task Manager but find nothing that looks like it.

    Thanks

    Hello @ruggb,

If the phone is now updated, and the update was completed by using software [ Program or App ], then you could try uninstalling it. A Restart will probably be required for the full implementation of the uninstall.

You might also need you to clear the Temp files => How to Delete Temporary Files in Windows 10

    I hope this helps.

Thanks - I have uninstalled the apps and cleaned the temp folders, cache, etc. with Old Timer TFC. Still popping up.
Cleaned everything I could think of from Chrome. FF isn't running.

Change allow notifications to block for that site in Chrome site settings:

[QUOTE=NMI;2406903]Change allow notifications to block for that site in Chrome site settings:

I only have 5 items allowed to notify. I don't know that it is coming in via Chrome but I found a number of tasks running associated with ad sites. The question is how do I delete them permanently? I deleted a couple, but the just come back.

    1) Open a new Google Chrome tab.
    2) Copy & Paste: chrome://extensions

    3) Press Enter

(see if you can find anything suspicious in your list of Extensions. Please report back here on what you think is suspicious.)

    4) Delete the Extensions that you do not use / do not want.
    5) Copy & Paste: chrome://apps
    6) Press Enter
    7) Look for anything suspicious
    8) Please report back on what you think might be a little sus.

(In my picture, I don't use any Chrome apps)

    Block notifications from android-p-beta.en.softonic.com

If you follow the instructions in the linked tutorial you would only see whether notifications were allowed from that site.

There must be a task that is running on the background and launches the notifications.
Open task manager (ctrl+Shift+Esc) and look for a suspicious process.
