See whether you can open Microsoft Store via the shortcut attached below.

Works on my Win 10 X64 Desktop but does not work on the Win 10S laptop. Double click or right click and select Open, nothing happens.

Note: sfc /scannow ran without error. I finally got dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth to run from from Task Manager, Run new command by checking the Create this task with administrator privileges. I don't really expect it to make any differene but worth a try.

Do you have Microsoft Store in "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps"?

If Window is apparently healthy then that only leaves the user profile. I really think you should try creating a new local user account as an administrator, as I suggested in post #18. A fresh clean user profile may be all you need to get everything working properly.

I had to give to laptop back to the owner this morning who will give it back to his wife. I told him to stop being cheap and buy her a real laptop. If he does I'll get the 10S laptop back to play with some more. There has to be a way to get it working again.

Windows 10S is a very very BAD idea. If you can manage to fix the start menu issues, next logical step would be signing out of it.

If a reset save files fails then consider a custom install.
It saves files to WIndows.old and installs a fresh OS.

I would need the Windows 10S ISO to do this. Once I've done an install and get a working Windows 10S then I can use the Microsoft Store to switch to a normal Windows 10 version.

If anyone has the ISO or CD they can make and ISO from and can make it available to me that would be great.
