Windows 10 from an OLD Notebook - It's desktop folder missed ??

Hi boys & Girls........ i have a curious question to make today:

I have removed a SATA2 HDD from a notebook of my cousing because he buys a new and most recent notebook.
The old notebook it's have Windows 10 installed by me....... he want to restore some files from this HD and move to the newest notebook.

For do this i have buy this:
ORICO Case Esterno per Disco Rigido 2.5" Custodia per Disco Rigido da USB 3.0 a SATA 3.0 per SSD da 7-9,5 mm da 2.5" Fino a 4 TB con Cavo USB 3.0,Installazione Senza Attrezzi-Nero : Amazon.it: Informatica

We have mounted the old HD inside this BOX and we have attach to an USB drive.

The only partition on this drive apparently it's can readable whitout any issue........ the drive it's a 500GB Western Digital and from info we can see a partition of about 424GB (i know it's not 500GB possible) and i see it's present about only 43GB of files.

After that i have try to reach the user folder.. the drive as be mounted as F: and i have reach this folder:
    F:\Users

Here there's present a folder "Diego" the username of my cousin....... i have open this and windows say ask to confirmation it's need the "Admin right" to access this folder. I have agree and after about 30 seconds the folder it's be opened.
I can see apparently all folder inside but there's some MISSING folder.
There no DESKTOP folder....... or there's no Pictures folder............ how it's possible ?

It's be hided in some mode ? Or it's reachable from another path ?

There's someone has some suggestion ?

Someone else recently had a question like this and another user here pointed out that the desktop is in a different location if you are using OneDrive. Try looking here:

    F:\Users\Diego\OneDrive\Desktop

The odd part is that I use OneDrive but it the Desktop folder in the OneDrive folder does not hold my current desktop contents, but I would be curious to know what you see.

Do let me know if that helps.

    Update:

I think that I see what causes the discrepancy. In OneDrive there is a backup option now available. One of the things that can be backed up is the Desktop. I was NOT using this option. As a result, all my files appeared in the usual location of C:\Users\UserName\Desktop. After I enabled this backup feature, that Desktop folder is empty, and all my desktop files appear in C:\Users\UserName\OneDrive\Desktop.

mmmmmmmmmmmmm interesting.......... at this point i need to ask to my cousin if him in your previous notebook used Onedrive.

If yes problably i need to check F:\user\Diego\Onedrive\Desktop

If no the desktop folder should be F:\user\Diego\Desktop (<- usually the default ??)

Otherwise also on my actual pc...... infact i not use Onedrive and Destkop it's located in C:\User\DjDiabolik\Desktop.

    Need to check........

I will pass this tip to my cousin since I gave him back his old HD on this newest box :)

Thanks anyway for suggestion my friend :)

Yes, your summary was correct, but let me clarify one detail:

It is not simply whether he used OneDrive, but specifically if he was using the backup feature in OneDrive to backup the desktop.
