@Compumind That looks reasonable. Thank you. I'll be back if there are any loose ends. 😉 The PC arrives in a week.
Before you do any restore or fresh/clean install of either Windows 10 or 11, I strongly recommend you export 3rd party oem drivers to a usb flash drive.
New pcs often come with drivers that are not in the standard MS isos, and sometimes pc will not boot - this is sometimes the case if device has nvme or optane based storage (happened to me).
If you have the drivers backed up first, you avoid the catch 22 trap that you need to boot windows in order to download drivers needed to boot windows.
Just a quick follow-up...
PC is up on W10 and scrubbed of many HP programs and trials. In addition to those listed, above, I uninstalled HP Client Security Manager. Windows Defender has served me well.
All looks good, and W11 is beckoning. Seeing many posts in this thread suggesting that I remain at W10, I'm wondering why? W11 seems inevitable, and it seems like starting sooner than later in the W10>W11 transition will result in less cruft to deal with. Thoughts?
Clone your present drive to another separate one and disconnect the clone.Macrium Reflect ,free or paid,is a reasonable method.
Upgrade to Win 11 and try it out over a decent period.
Only you can determine the suitabilty,or otherwise, of its performance in relation to your needs.
