If the computer fails to boot you can try Macrium boot repair or manually troubleshoot using a Windows 10 iso.
The Windows iso can be any Windows version:

https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11
Boot to the WIndows iso:
a) run startup repair > if not fixed
b) run system restore >
c) if not fixed then plan command prompt commands or Macrium boot repair or both
Use Macrium Reflect Rescue Media to Fix Windows Boot Issues
Hi, You need to re-enable Graphic mode in your BCD
bootuxdisabled [ on | off ]Code:BCDEdit /set
Disables boot graphics.
graphicsmodedisabled [ on | off ]
Indicates whether graphics mode is disabled and boot applications must use text mode display.
graphicsresolution
Defines the graphics resolution, 1024x768, 800x600,1024x600, etc.
highestmode [ on | off ]
Enables boot applications to use the highest graphical mode exposed by the firmware.
novga [ on | off ]
Disables the use of VGA modes entirely.
vga [ on | off ]
Forces the use of the VGA display driver.
I never played with that... But it's where I would start.
Use EasyBcdedit
from
NeoSmart.com
choose the home free version
When installed look for and choose METRO boot loader.
I notice on the boot menu that only Windows 7 and XP are listed. I don't think the graphical boot menu (metro boot loader) came into existence until Windows 8.
Confirmed - not available until Windows 8:

Yes, I agree METRO not available to Win 8. However, Hairy Scot shows in his bio that he is running Win 10 ver 21 H2.
How about is @Hairy Scot posts a screenshot of disk management as a start?

@Hairy Scot, what happened to your Windows 10 install? Are you now just dual booting Windows 7 with Windows XP?
I would suggest you use the method in the link I provided:

To enable the graphical boot menu:
bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy standard
I did try that BCDEDIT command, but to no avail.
EASYBCD was no help since there are apparently limits on its functionality in a GPT UEFI setup.
Now that I think on it, I went the GPT EFI route when I implemented my new system. My previous antique had use MBR for boot disk.
However, I would think that there should be a way to get the graphic version on a GPT/EFI system.
But it's not a train smash.
