Laptop from Hell

Finally found this after the run around in the message section so I hope I is the right spot. Everybody thinks I have time to sit here for days and go thru all the posts which I do not. Anyway my Laptop from hell when I open documents from the desktop is screen one.

now when I try to insert a picture on a web site this mystery Desktop folder is created in the explore and I need to get rid of it. This is not normal for Windows 10 Pro since my desktop does not do this.

. Have run the desktop bat found on this site twice and that does not help. The Desktop in documents is a hidden folder and I do not show hidden folder.

I do not know, how you meant it to read, but it comes across to me as rather confrontational

I went into the message and sent a message, to whom doesn't matter. I was then told to post it, then I sent another message how, since I am not that computer literate on this site, then I got a message that had nothing to do with question, so I sent another message for help, then I got another message that had nothing to do with the question and this one was locked. Same person would not answer my question. Since I am alone I need the question I asked answered and not the run around because being alone for 2 years I usually have 2 days work to do in one day So it is not confrontational it is what is called the truth as what happened. Does that help or do you need more. Also I need to add a picture in my profile but I am scared to ask for the run around again. Now I will be gone until tomorrow.

I think you are getting a discussion forum (like tenforums, et al), confused with a chat room.

Questions, etc have to be posted under an appropriate subject category / heading for ALL users to see, not as personal messages (PMs) to individuals.

EDIT : Hmmm, 10 minutes later and I'm now having a deja-vu moment about this thread - maybe not this OP, but pretty sure been there, done that ... ?

Looking at the first image in the original post, the background shows a tenforums window open, a (previous) posting with subject "Help", "Brink"s name appears to get a mention and the window shows 6 notifications from (that) previous post ?

Is this a follow-up /continuation to that thread ?

Forum etiquette (all forums, not just this one) has an expectation of some basic research (cursory as it may be) to find if a problem has already been discussed and, usually, solved . Forums have a built-in search function (this forum > top RH corner) to enable the forum (not the whole internet) to be accessed using particular key words. Very helpful and frequently massive time saver.

Not quite sure what this means or what you're trying to do. A little more detail perhaps ... (including the steps you take to do it).

Whilst MS has increasingly tried to limit the settings options for users, I suspect this is related to a different setting in one device cf another device. Which setting(s) that/they is/are may be difficult to diagnose without your devices

Which bat file is this ?

The Desktop in documents is a hidden folder and I do not show hidden folder.

However you can individually unhide folders by right-click on the folder > Properties > and untick the Hidden option (it may be that this has been accidentally ticked and thus the root/cause of your problems?)

You have an unusual setup - a Documents shortcut on the Desktop is not unusual, but a Desktop (shortcut?) in the Documents ..... ??

There are two pictures you can add, a Profile Picture that is only visible to someone who reads your profile, and an Avatar picture that's shown on every one of your posts. These links will take you to the appropriate part of your profile where you can each:

The Desktop folder is a system folder that is an essential part of any Windows installation and that should not be deleted. It is NOT hidden by default, and, there is NO reason why it should be changed to hidden. The reason why the Open dialog window [of the Firefox browser] is pointing to your Desktop folder is simply because Firefox remembers the folder location from the last time when you uploaded a file with Firefox. Also, Firefox has got the word 'fire' in its name. It's supposed to act like hell!

Just to give OP the perspective, this is how my explorer looks like. The left panel ("the navigation Pane") is defined by various settings and is not affected by which folder I am looking at and whether (and where) I'm saving files. The "Desktop" is there, but it can be removed as well.

Now, this is NOT how a default Windows 10 explorer looks like. From the first post I can tell that the way Explorer looks on the OPs laptop has been changed from the default. Moreover, from the OPs post I figure it was someone else who made the changes. At this point, there are two simple ways to proceed. We can guide the OP through resetting the Explorer to the default and then modifying the way they want it to look. Alternatively, they can just go back to the person who set it up in the first place. Another possibility would be to exchange the laptop if it's a recent purchase.
