    Trying to restore boot partition

    Hey.
Computer refuses to boot and always says "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key".
Windows 10 repair can't do anything.
I've been trying to get it working through CMD, but nothing seems to work and there's always something wrong.
I don't unfortunately have a log of everything I've done and can't even remember. Been trying to fix this almost week now following directions I've found online.
It seems the computer can't find windows 10/boot. It's possible I've deleted it by accident not knowing what I'm doing, since I'm far from expert and been trying stuff blindly, even though all these things I tried were supposed to be safe regarding data loss, but doesn't seem so, unless it disappeared for some other reason.
Anyway, what I'm trying to do right now is to restore missing boot partition, following these directions:

    "diskpart
    list disk
select disk N (N refers to disk which contains deleted efi system partition)
    list partition
    create partition efi
    format quick fs=fat32
    list partition
list volume (find the volume letter which belongs to installed windows OS)
    exit
bcdboot M:\windows (M refers to volume letter of installed windows OS)"

    But this happens to me:

Been a long week with this and I'm starting to lose hope for restoring the computer and all the possibly lost data, but still hoping.
Any help would be highly appreciated, thank you.

More history about how you got here might be useful. Was this ever a bootable working Window install?

Original motherboard broke so I switched it from old computer, since then haven't been able to boot in. That's when the "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key" started.

Was old PC MBR/Legacy and this one is set to UEFI in BIOS maybe? Try switching this PC to legacy/CSM vs UEFI, then see if it boots.

Not sure how to do that, I've been checking BIOS settings for those options, but don't seem to have them, unless they're under different name there. I have tried different BIOS settings though, but doesn't seem to work.

Post a link to your BIOS manual and PC/motherboard details. Fill out your PC details in your profile too.

If Windows 10 installed HDD missing an EFI System Reserved partition, you can create one by following below instructions.

Please boot your computer with Windows Installation Media and from Windows Recovery Environment start the Command Prompt.

From Command Prompt, execute bellow commands one at a time:

    Code:
    Diskpart

    List Disk

    Select Disk 0

    List Partition

    Select Partition X

    Shrink desired=100

    Create Partition EFI

    FORMAT FS=FAT32 LABEL="ESP"

    Assign Letter=W

    Exit

     bcdboot C:\Windows /s W: /f ALL
Use "List Disk" command to find out disk number assign to Windows 10 installed drive.

Replace number 0 zero with disk number assign to Windows 10 installed drive

Use "List Partition" command to find out Windows 10 installed partition assigned number.

Replace X letter with Windows 10 installed partition assigned number.

You may need to replace C: drive letter with Windows 10 installed partition drive letter.

I have to warn you Diskpart tool is very dangers, so please make sure to execute Diskpart command carefully.

Generic example: How To Change CSM To UEFI/UEFI To CSM - MSI Click BIOS 5 - YouTube

I would stop trying to do anything with creating partitions until you try the BIOS configuration change - that may save you a lot of time if it boots and let you know if you need to try other things or not.
