Anyone seeing this error on shutdown?

Any idea what a "DropWindow" is?
No matter if I click on either button, or just wait for about 15 seconds, Windows shuts down normally.

That panel isn't an error but a warning, useful to prevent loss of data that still may be in use. I'd do an investigation into what DropWindow is, could be something you have installed or a customization that has that included, start with a Search of the Internet for the name.

Do you have the Symless Synergy keyboard/mouse sharing software installed? There's a "DropWindow" component in that product.

Of course Google Search shows nothing. It doesn't happen with every shutdown, maybe one in ten times. I make sure everything is shut down, and even checked Task Manager to see if something running in the background. Nothing unusual.

But, LesFerch, below, may be on to something.

I will do some experiments, but that could be it. I don't use Synergy often, but I will look for a correlation the next time I use it..

I know it's just a warning, but it was just bugging me that this would occasionally pop up on shutdown.

I see the same thing from time to time for other apps and have just learned to ignore it as it doesn't always happen and like you, pressing either button doesn't matter.

    I don't like unexplained warnings.
I do a lot of Arduino programming in C++, and when I get a compiler warning, I fix it. What is a warning now, could easily be an error in a later version of the compiler. (Also, I think it makes me a better programmer).

I don't either ......... but we have no choice in this Windows matter. Go take a look at the Event Viewer after you take a few Valium tablets first

Try to resolve some of those unexplained warnings and errors.

To MS credit, they do have to support a basically infinite combination of hardware and software.
