    Unable to reassign drive letter

I have a clone disk that's currently assigned to E: and I would like to reset it to G: and unable to see "G:" in the options.

Yet nothing else uses G:, so it's a mystery.

MSI GT80 SLI running latest-greatest 21H1 *.1469 (that won't update to H2, which is a mystery in itself, but off-topic).

    Hello dictum,
See if you can unassign E: then reassign it to G: using diskpart as they show in here:

How to Assign and Remove Drive Letter with Diskpart in Windows 10 or 11?

The G: assignment may be from a USB drive.

These third party software may be useful to view and free drive letters:

View / Change / Remove drive letters assignment in your system
View any installed/connected USB device on your system
