    changing ctrl alt 1 hotkey

    hello,

im in agony trying to figure out how to change the hotkey, or enable it to do what i want,

it used to work ! but since reinstalling windows 10 ive lost the ability,

currently ctrl alt 1 makes my desktop icons slightly bigger,

im trying to change it to open up a program, ive edited the shortcut, ive enabled hotkeys in the group policy, and for the life of me i cannot figure how its not working, or how to change it so it does what i want,

if anybody knows, thank you in advance it would be greatly appreciated,

    many thanks,

    stuart

Hi, you can readily redefine hot keys using Autohotkey, free scripting language.

    E.g. put
    ^!1::run wordpad.exe

    in text file
    xyz.ahk

Then double click xyz.ahk with Autohotkey installed.. and

    CTRL ALT 1 launches wordpad.

it can be done without any third party apps, but the shortcut must be in the specified locations:

Hello, thank you for your quick reply ! i have done this, ive added the shortcut command in properties, but when im executing the command on the keyboard - simply - nothing is happening - sometimes it makes the icons larger, sometimes it doesn't,

ive googled and googled, some websites are stating it has something to do with windows 10 not having hotkeys enabled by default, it states to change it in the group policy, but still, its not launching kodi,

    many thanks again,

Put a copy of the shortcut on your desktop, then modify that desktop shortcut with your desired keyboard shortcut and test again.

As the tutorial states, the shortcut can only be in specified locations, Desktop being one.
