Whatever drives were running at the time of hacking are useless until cleansed.
If they are conventional hard drives, then ---DBAN---is a good tool to do it.
You will need access to a clean drive to download DBAN and install it to a usb.
There is an informative article on how to proceed on ---lifewire.com---
Using another computer is advisable,if at all possible.

So how i got into this mess.. lemme tell you a story... bout a man named corbin (nope doesnt sound the same as jeb).
So i was just learning what a powershell script was, and long behold i pick the worlds worst nightmare for a script.. who the hell remembers what i searched, but man did it ruin me!

That is basically the story of how i got here, but one thing i did learn along the way, even if this computer is fried now because of my stupidity). I learned i want to program... period. And i intend to fix this problem, but first i promised my self id figure out how to fix this thing.

thats my story! sorry to involve all of you, but ive been watching these forums and i respect what its members have to say.

Oh and if your still reading, i fried my I-7 12K with... im going to say the accidental touch of my screwdriver to a Mobo with the battery still inside... unfortunately she didnt survive... that is why i am stuck with only 1 computer and its literally half of what i had.

AFAIC there is no such thing as "recovering" from a hack.

    Wipe and clean install.

while i dont disagree with your true assessment, and it is infact the easiest method here, but this computer is now the only one i got left so, unfortunately for me its undo the hack or say bye bye to the internet, so, i gotta figure out how to unhack the hack 1 step at a time, right now my current problem is my "offline" registry says wierd mounting things i dont understand in registry'ees (doubt thats how you guys say it). and in order to use a usb stick to install from thats gotta go in its entirety.

How you "undo the hack" is a clean wipe and fresh install. It's been said a few times already. If you want it undone like that, take it to a local shop and be prepared to pay out the nose for labor as they pick thru every file.

Honestly, i don't buy the story, sorry.

I guess you haven't started to use disk imaging regularly and routinely as is endlessly advised here. Painful lesson if so.

Had you been doing so you could have restored a disk image of what you had before the hack occurred- and hopefully then needed no technical help, and avoided a potential clean install.

What does disk imaging cost? E.g. Macrium Reflect or Aomei Backupper (free or paid) and large enough external storage, and some minutes periodiacally to update your image set.

It gives you a full backup and the ability to restore your system even if the imaged disk/partition is useless and needs replacing. Even if your PC is stolen you could potentially restore to a new PC.

But that's what you need to start doing when you finally get back up and running, and start doing that + System Restore points as early as you can.

so what about the story seems fake? the fact that i admitted i screwed up, got hacked as a result of the powershell scripts security changes, he then setup a linux account on my HD without me knowing, and could moniter me and change tasks as he pleased because i never knew he was there with this ability (not knowing it even existed yet) i then proceeded to flash my Mobo, destroying my i7-10700K -SRH72 - 3.80ghz (sorry got the numbers mixed earlier.. anyway) and managed to fry my cpu with a screw driver tip hitting the wrong place at the wrong time... and zap now i have this, indeed my only computer.
if you would like me to verify my story with pictures of my best buy purchase of windows 10, so that he could no longer use his fake "OEM" version on my computer, and pretend hes the domain account owner preventing me from making changes, not really a hack more of working as intended, but in this case used to, nefarious purpose. so I re purchased windows, rearmed the system and that is honstly where im at... so i still ask, how can i undo this hack so that i can try and enjoy the internet again. I want to erase and clean install, im telling you everything that has been on my system has been cleaned and yet here i am. without the ability to update my windows like everyone else, and just asking if anyone might have a differnt approach to "clean and reinstall" when that isnt working for me it seems.

If indeed there is no other way, i have a 3.0bg... yes 3 gig hd that hasnt seen the light of day since... i dunno 1995? i could probably get windows small enough to go on it with some major tweaking, hey it got me this screwed right? and get it to take a windows 1995 disk im sure i have in a box somewhere, boot.. crash... which oddly enough at least since this hacker has been around pretty much my windows 10 story, oh the good ole days right?

That is sadly option B at this point, and my only real alternative to anything that resembles a clean wipe. because i cant seem to get it right.

    THIS

It will take a few days, but they will clean your computer "while" you're online.
In other words... you'll still be able to access the internet, while they walk you through the cleaning process.

While Bleeping Computer is helping you clean your system... do EXACTLY what they tell you... no more, no less.

Be patient. Don't rush. If you're not sure about an instruction....ask them to explain.

    Thank you for your reply.

Let's assume you have wiped and formatted your system disk and it's the only one in your system and you've successfully installed Win 10.

If you have done that you would presumably have used the latest build of Win 10- in which case issues of upgrading to another build are null and void.

If you have in fact used an old installation medium (rather than creating a current one) and thus chosen to clean install 2004, well that would leave you with upgrading. Upgrading can be problematical. Additional issues might apply if your PC is older.

    What have you actually done?
