Will it report errors if anything untoward happens?
RoboCopy has a comprehensive selection of LOG Commands that can be used to report on a variety of the processes performed. You will find the Commands at the bottom of the documentation links posted above.

If the OP is willing to use third-party freeware, consider the following:

SyncBackFree - free online data backup software for Windows

It will not ask questions during operations. It will bring up a report after operations if errors/warnings have arisen.

No, I use RoboCopy for all complex copying needs.

    You could too. Example
    Code:
    RoboCopy "D:\Desktop\Whatever" "A:\UtilityBackup\Wherever" /MIR
RoboCopy has much more sophisticated capabilities but this is a basic command that will do most things you need.
I do not understand why you don't want to use it.

    Hi Denis,

The link I posted is for RoboMirror. It's based on Robocopy. You might want to take a closer look at it? They just put lipstick and a pretty face on Robocopy. So yeah, I agree. Robocopy is very powerful. (I've looked at Teracopy, Copywhiz, and Fastcopy since the hours from my last post. I think RoboMirror should do it since apparently one can use all of Robocopy's switches with it which is plentiful).

I don't want to use the commandline version for the same reason I gave up decades of experience as a system administrator for Solaris and AIX (both unix) and Novell networks. I simply got burned out with command lines in Linux too. I guess you can say I'm rebelling against command lines in my wiser age? Lol.

Thanks Matthew. But SyncBackFree is backup software? Backup software is different from file replication or file mirroring. I'm looking for a file replication software which does not compress files in the target destination. I already have backup software which I would highly recommend: Macrium Reflect (payware).

    SyncBackFree provides three options:

"Backup" = "Copying" as shown below:

    Just leave the box unchecked.

SyncBackFree Portable 9.4.2.15 - Free File Backup & Synchronization Tool - ThinstallSoft

I use the above portable version.

If you want to use it, delete "SyncBackFreePortable.exe" and just run "\App\SyncBackFree\SyncBackFree.exe".
I have created a desktop shortcut to it.

I already had. I'm not interested in it at all.
