My Scheduled Task runs too often!

    Folks,

I've created a scheduled task to run a Network Reset once a week. (I need to do that, because my network will "lose" some of my computers on my home LAN for some reason.)

I want the task to run once a week. I set it to Mondays at 0243. The problem is that the task runs EVERY TIME the computer WAKES.

I've attached a zipped export of my task.

I cannot figure out what I've done wrong. I copied this task and exported to other computers. They don't run it every time they wake.

    Thanks for any advice!

    Ken

    Ken,

I have examined your task definition and I agree that you have set it up correctly.
A user in ElevenForum has also reported Tasks running at times other than their intended ones [contrary to the settings made in the task definition].

Sometimes, tasks set to run 'whether user is logged in or not' can have puzzling outcomes. I suggest that you change that to 'run only when user is logged in', even if only for the purposes of testing.
    - I do not think trying it 'whether user is logged in or not' gives you any benefits anyway.

    Denis,

Thanks for looking. I'll make the change you suggested...fingers crossed.

    Ken

Edited to Add: that failed to work.

Here's a screenshot of the error I get when I change to "Run only when user is logged on".

Are you currently logged in to that user account and is it an Admin one?

I've experimented with it myself now and managed to recreate the same error dialog. It was the sequencing of the change that was triggering it.
1 Select 'run only when user is logged in'
2 Click on the Change user or group button and reselect your username
3 Click on the OK button
It should accept the change now without protesting.

    All the best,

If you want to discuss your network reset batch file itself, I suggest you have a word with Paul Black as he's currently garnering opinions on his equivalent batch file
Clean & Reset Network [Paul Black] - TenForums

I haven't had to use those commands since Win7.
More recently, I did have to disable then re-enable the WiFi adapter to allow a particular computer to see networks [after sleep, as I recall]. I used a batch file for that. But I do not think you are dealing with adapter problems judging by the name of your batch file.

    All the best,
