    Screen flickering in Windows 10

I have been struggling for several days with screen flickering in Windows 10 2 days after I upgraded. I immediately tried to return to a previous restore point which made no difference. With the assistance of persons in this forum, I then tried to use the safe mode to try to figure out if some software was causing the problem. In doing so, I uninstalled several programs to no avail. Consideration was also given to the display card.
Looking back, I now know that the only software that was installed was AVG anti-virus. I spent most of last night trying to remove all traces of it, even as far as cleaning out the Registry, but the problem still persists. The PC is completely useless as the start menu cannot be accessed. I just tried Brummyfan and Alphanumeric's advice but it does not work.

Could you be able to access Services screen, if you can, stop these two services:
Windows Error Reporting service and Problem Reports and Solutions Control panel support.
    EDIT:
If you are unable to use the start button, Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task manager, go to Services tab, at the bottom click Open services.

I and several of my colleagues are all experiencing this issue. We are using Windows 10 on Asus laptops. One thing unites our spec. We are all using 4k screens. The problem stops completely when we connect to a lower resolution 2560x1440 (in my case) external screen. We have one or 2 older laptops. They are having no issues.

We simply do not believe the official line from Microsoft and tech support at Asus gave me the impression they don't either as we are far from alone.

Mine started on a fresh build with no AV installed. However, as a company we use Webroot. Obviously the problem continues since installing that.

I was told by a T3 tech from a manufacturer that it is a problem with display drivers for intel as Windows 10 was not working with the display drivers as it should. This was a passing conversation so may be meaningless but we do not expect a resolution until it is addressed. We sent the 2 newest laptops back to manufacturer and are now in some debate with them about the returns being covered because they are not actually faulty. They point out we can go back to windows 7 and not have the problem, we point out that their product says it is windows 10 compatible.

This problem may go away shortly as a client mentioned they are not happy contracting with companies using Windows 10 because of security/privacy concerns. They don't want their data leaking to Microsoft of anyone else. So we may be moving to MACs (I cant believe this day ever came) hence I am not going quite as crazy about this as I might be otherwise because I have bigger problems.
