    Any luck @Judy in Texas?

    If not, try... 'Settings' > 'Updates and Security' > (slick on) 'Check for Updates'.

    @James alluded to this previously.

    Let us know what you find out.

    Dalchina, my computer is indeed very old. It is retired from its original workstation life and was re-purposed 5 years ago to do my small-scale video editing. The number of bays for drives and inputs and the 32G of Ram were important then and now. The pro shop that upgraded it is no longer in business. (I have outlived three great computer shops.) I still need all of the (now old) components. I will keep it as my video workhorse as long as I can. However, I have a Dell laptop that I bought for travel and am getting used to (that can upgrade to W11) and you are reminding me to post the specs of that one too. It was retired, apparently untouched, and I got it very cheap from eBay.

    James, I just asked the Z-800 to update and it did. It is now 21H1.

    My remaining question is, why didn't it just do this since I had updates turned on? It has wanted to update (and has done so) pretty often in recent months, probably due to the security issues that came up. It didn't occur to me that I should explicitly check. I don't understand now why it made so many updates without making this upgrade.

    That is not an essential question so I will mark this thread closed. Thank all of you for your help.

    @Judy in Texas

    You're still not on the latest version.

    The latest 'Stable' version is 21H2 19044.1415

    Best of luck.

    True, but there's no urgency to be on 21H2 ATM: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/lif...0-home-and-pro

    Judy, if you check for updates in a few days/weeks or even now, you may see the option to update to 21H2, but 21H1 is good and supported until December 2022 and you won't be able to tell any difference between it and 21H2, don't fret.

    I posted something like this once and am not seeing it, so will post a shorter version.

    dalcnina, it is a very old computer, and it still serves my specialized purpose.

    James, I asked it to upgrade and it did, to the current version. I have updates turned on and it does so often. It didn't occur to me that I needed to ask.

    I will close the thread and thank you all!

    Great news it managed to do the upgrade. Like @WXC mentions, 21H2 is the latest, but 21H1 won't cause any problems.

    Agreed. 21H1 is fine. And I am glad @Judy in Texas upgraded from 2004 successfully.

    I've been running 21H2 for 3 months, and haven't seen a nickel's worth of difference.

    Thank you James, for helping her.

    Take care.

    Most of my computers have the latest released update but anticipate another tomorrow [Patch Tuesday].
