When I start up my computer the lock screen shows 2 accounts. One has just my name, which Im trying to remove because it default tries to log into. The second is my microsoft @live account which Ive used from day one. When I go into accounts it shows I have 1 account on this computer, its the one I use @live to sign in. Really confusing and Im not sure that to do.
That account would be a Local account, did you ever at any time change the name of it? That might be why it is showing up and trying to take over default. I originally had a Local account, when I added my MS account, it changed the Local account type to the MS type.
Take a look in your User Profiles, the original name of the account will be listed there:
Make sure you have only one profile listed, if you have more than one, you'll have to figure out which one is attached to your MS account. Also, if you did ever change your account name, that could have caused this. You can't really ever change your account name, the best you can do is create a new account with the name you want, and delete the other User while saving your local files.
I created a local account, but I immediately created an MS account and it changed the local file names to reflect the change. I also use an Administrator account, but I can choose either one at the Lockscreen. Whichever one I choose, becomes the default next time I log in. But all you have to do is log into the MS account and it will switch back the next time.
I come across this all the time when repairing machines, instead of making a new account with the desired name, they change the name of the local account to a new name, which futzes up the whole profile, so that you use the new name to log in, but the profile is stored in a User folder with the old original name. This really messes with programs, sometimes links will be lost, sometimes local content becomes inaccessible because it was saved originally under the old account.
I'll have to check that out when I can.I never messed with any account setting and I've never logged into the local account because I do not know what the password for it is. I forgot to mention this. When my computer starts up it tries to log into the local account but if you let the screen saver pop up the local account isn't listed anymore and only one account(@live) is listed.

Are you on Pro? If you are you can change the unknown password through here:
Just find the account that you can't remember the password for, and hit "set password" and enter a blank password. Then you'll be able to delete that account.

Yah I'm thinking if you forgot the password for the original local account, Windows 10 would have created a new account. If you have Pro it should be no problem. but if you have Home, you have to use a password reset disk.
