Quick access frequent folder and recent files title missing

Today I have encountered the quick access bar displaying the list of the icons (1st picture) instead of the normal list where the frequent folders and recent files are separated (2nd picture). I have unchecked and checked the boxes under privacy and this has still not sorted this issue.

    Any ideas?

Hi, I see the same as your first; if the view is List, there are no 'separators' as in 'Frequent Folders'.

With any other view, these are shown.

Odd. Check by creating a new user for test purposes. Log in as that user. How does QA appear then?

I will need to speak to my IT department for a test login but they didn’t know either what caused this issue. Any ideas from your side?

    Not heard of it..sorry.
If it's recent, you might have a disk image or restore point you could use.

Can you think of any change that might have happened around the time this changed- if you have a clear idea of when that was, that is? You mentioned you noticed it today... so if it was ok yesterday...

As it's a company PC, I would let your IT dept take responsibility. The sort of repair actions that might be suggested are probably not possible depending on what group policies are in place.

It was working fine yesterday. It does also say under options for the windows search bar that the recent build version was yesterday. Would this maybe have made an impact? However, if I go to “this pc” the folders are all separated so it simply just appears to be the “quick access” folder producing a list. So seems strange it’s specifically this folder. I did uncheck and regal boxes and no still never worked and all the files and folders are still coming under quick access just not separating them.

I have seen some others on the internet report this issue as well.

I have spoken to IT so will wait to see what they say. Hopefully it will be fixed at the next windows update.

I don't know to what that refers, sorry.

You haven't stated your exact Windows build. If you look at your Update History, what and when was the last update you received? Thanks.

Mine is 19044.1348 - there is a later preview update (I've chosen not to receive those).
