    Event viewer errors: 86 / 3011-3012

    Error 86
SCEP Certificate enrollment initialization for WORKGROUP\KIORI$ via https://AMD-KeyId-578c545f7969514212...lates/Aik/scep failed:

This causes my PC to lock up and freeze. More often when playing Diablo II resurrected, but it can happen with other games.

    Error 3011-3012
Unloading the performance counter strings for service WmiApRpl (WmiApRpl) failed. The first DWORD in the Data section contains the error code.

I have the latest windows updates but I get this and another( noted below ).

Any help with resolving these errors would be much appreciated. I'm no Windows expert however, I can look at the event viewer log and note an error id. So if the fix is complex( to me ), I will probably have to leave it alone.

Any information though would be appreciated as at least I would hopefully be less ignorant of what to do than I am now.

    Regards

    Kiore

Hello kiore and welcome to TF

In which of the many EV sections are you seeing this error?

If you would like to post a screenshot: https://www.tenforums.com/faq.php?fa...b3_attachments

    Event viewer errors: 86 / 3011-3012-error-86.jpg

I edited my first post and added a screenshot. I could not find the edit button to do so again and have replied to add the 2nd screenshot.

Both screenshots are taken from the application folder on event viewer.

There are also a couple of errors in the system folder which I only just noticed I can update on those if you like as well with screenshots to. But I do realise that this means more work and people will help as when they have the time and knowledge to do so.

    Thanks for replying.

    Similar error reported here.

SCEP Certificate enrollment initialization EVENT ID: 86

Is this just a cosmetic error you're inquiring about or is something not working?

My computer freezes and locks up and I have to reboot. The application error seems to be around the time that my PC locks up.

I have seen a few system errors around the same time, I also saw a system error another 30 minutes later and at that time my PC did not lock up, due to this I had thought it was the application error 86 being the culprit.

I see the below WARNING in the system folder( 1016 )
The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Launch permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
    Windows.SecurityCenter.SecurityAppBroker
    and APPID
    Unavailable
to the user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM SID (S-1-5-18) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

A few seconds prior to the warning this ERROR shows in the system folder( 1001 )
Unable to start a DCOM Server: Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_1000.19041.1023.0_neutral_neutral_cw5n1h2txyewy!Windows.Security.Authenti cation.Web.Core.BackgroundGetTokenTask.ClassId.WebAccountProvider as Unavailable/Unavailable. The error:
    "2147942402"
    Happened while starting this command:
    "C:\WINDOWS\system32\BackgroundTaskHost.exe" -ServerName:BackgroundTaskHost.WebAccountProvider

This all means nothing to me and it is purely a guess on my part as to the cause of my PC locking up except for the time that it occurs.

    I hope that helps.

Run sfc and dism to see if any problems are found on your PC: Run SFC Command in Windows 10

Unfortunately, some errors in the EV are just normal/ignorable, so therefore I recommend running sfc/dism. I have errors in my EV even though everything works fine on my PC.

I can't tell much from the text in your last post. Some screenshots would be more useful to me to see if I have similar events in my EV.

When did your PC start freezing/locking up? Can you attribute that to any recent hardware or software or configuration changes?

Also check Windows Reliability to see if there are any issues.

Try a Clean Boot. If this works you can leave it this way or you can add one startup item at a time until the computer starts freezing then you will know the culprit.
As stated, You can also start a Command Prompt as Admin and copy and paste or type

DISM /Online /CLEANUP-IMAGE /RestoreHealth. and press Enter. When that is done type
SFC /scannow and press Enter. These two commands will restore any missing system files.

Thank you both for the replies. I am following up on what you both have mentioned. I am doing a bit of reading first before proceeding, though I have just made a backup.

I will comment further after doing what you have advised.

    Cheers
