    F12 Boot Options and Blue Progress Bar Show Up On Every Reboot

    Model: Dell 8940
    OS: Win 10, Win11 21H2 Pro

    Drives: Bootable Win10 Factory NVMe drive (PC SN730 NVMe WDC 1024GB)
    Bootable Win11 SATA (CT1000BX500SSD1)
    Data Drive SATA (WDC WD30EZRX-00D8PB0)

    Upon booting the computer I can hit F12 and select Win10 or Win11. Both OS's work normally and, upon normal reboot, the system remembers the last OS to boot.

    The issue is, without pressing F12, the '"F12 BOOT OPTIONS" text and Blue Progress Bar show up on every boot (either OS).

    I created the Win11 drive by cloning the Win10 drive and then using a DVD to install Win11 on the clone drive.

    I looked in the BIOS and didn't recognize any problems, for what that's worth!

    Any suggestions would be appreciated!

    Jim

    I'd wonder if it simply is the BIOS seeing 2 bootable devices attached and giving a choice.

    The Bios is recognizing 2 Windows installations and giving you the choice to choose one with a progress bar. If you don't select one of the OS's by the time the progress bar finishes, it will boot the first OS in that list automatically.

    @Berton, @spunk

    Thanks for the answers. It was something new for me, but I could've guess that it was a 'choice'.

    I originally was going to create dual boot system but decided that if I liked Win11, I would use the Win10 drive somewhere else. I also didn't want to cram both OS on one 1TB SSD.
