I guess I didn't explain correctly... I'm looking to disable the xla to prevent someone using its function unless password or key stroke is made, seing the content of the XLSX I don't really care

I apologize if I'm not understanding you correctly.

There's another option. Don't put a password on Password to open, but put a password for Password to modify.
I'm assuming that putting a password in the second box will let you open the Excel file, but not modify and save it.

EDIT: I just tried it out. When you do it this method above, when you try to open the file, you can press this button without putting a password:

I don't know how to avoid this box from popping up though...

Did you try to change the xla file attributes to read only?

I don't believe that any provision exists to protect an xla in the way you want.

What have you done to stop others from just double-clicking on it in its own folder in File explorer?
    - Perhaps that might form the basis of a solution.
    - But please don't misunderstand me, I don't think there is a viable solution.

xlas do not load automatically. Excel has to be set to load them. [In my version, that's in Excel, Options, Add-ins]
    - Perhaps you could put the xla into a password-protected zip file using an appropriate third-party utility.
    - When you want to use it you use the password to extract it then you load it into Excel.
    - I don't think this is an acceptable operating method in practice. You'd hate it.

Who are you trying to withhold the xla from?
Why are you trying to withhold the xla from them?
