    couldn't find any errors relating to trying to update the time. But just in case which category would it fall under
    Try what MaloK suggested first. I can stop and start mine and my settings weren't grayed out.

    Found this error i think is related

    The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
    {2593F8B9-4EAF-457C-B68A-50F6B8EA6B54}
    and APPID
    {15C20B67-12E7-4BB6-92BB-7AFF07997402}
    to the user ETHPUTER\Ethan SID (S-1-5-21-2828053850-3698421374-2309066740-1003) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

    Try to run the stop and start commands. If they both work do
    Code:
    w32tm /resync
    You should get
    "Sending resync command to local computer
    The command completed successfully."

    If not, run sfc and dism /restorehealth if necessary as shown here:
    Run SFC Command in Windows 10

    That's irrelevant. The Event Viewer is full of stuff you have to ignore and this is one. We just care about time server related messages right now.

    Follow my last post re: start, stop, resync.

    Post the commands you ran and output for start and stop please.

    So the time service still didn't start, but want to see the outputs.

    If still not working, to check for Windows system file issues run from admin powershell:

    Code:
    sfc /scannow
    and if corruption found and could not be fixed, with internet enabled run:

    Code:
    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    post the commands and results
