So far, I haven't seen the issue again after doing this. I used it for a few hours. But I need to keep using my PC for several days.

Also, I saw I had 1 GB in cache, before I cleared it.

"So your Windows clock stays frozen too?"

Yes, that's usually the first sign, then eventually everything freezes. One time I noticed it and was able to get task manager up, and uses that to start CMD, on which i tried to run the "shutdown -r -t 0" command. That resulted in a gray screen, and i had to press the reset button to start the pc again.

I have tried the sfc/scannow command, and dsim command. And I have tried to turn off hardware acceleration, neither did anything to help. I have also reinstalled windows, and still get the same error. And I tried to change browser from Chrome to Brave. So I'm soon running out of ideas.

Here is a video I took that shows the frozen pc. Windows 10 freezing - YouTube As you can see I can pause and play the video, but only the audio is playing for me. I can move the mouse cursor, but nothing else is happening.
Considering both you and I have similar CPUs and same brand motherboard, I wonder if there is something common here.

Also, the USB-C never worked on my motherboard. Neither did BlueTooth.

These are minor things, not worth starting a repair ticket and having to disassemble my build over. But I wish they would have worked.

Does the USB-C port work on yours?

Yes, the USB C port works on mine. And my computer worked fine until now in October, after several years in service. And it seems like stuff changed after a recent update.

The issue is persisting on my end. I've noticed one thing in the event log that always occures when the system is freezing. "service for software protection for restart reason rulesengine" and "software protection service is stopped" Since my system is in Norwegian I have translated the message to English. But these events always occure when the clock stops.

I'm not sure what command you are running. Where is the original post it came from?

I got a reply that said:

It's now deleted, and didn't help solve the issue of system freezing.

That doesn't look like a valid command to me - but whomever posted it will have to confirm.

The clear cache seems to keep the issue at bay for 1 - 2 weeks, but the system clock being frozen issue comes back.

I then clear cache, and it doesn't happen again for about another week or two.

It doesn't seem to solve it permanently.

Refresh Firefox and see how that goes.
Does this happen with other browsers?
