    Font colour puzzle

Could someone kindly check out the brief discussion I've just started please, in

    Font colour difficult to read . Issue #206 . wokwi/wokwi-features . GitHub

What colour font do you see on that purple background?

I've tried this in Chrome, Edge and Waterfox, all with same problem.
EDIT Saturday 16 October: Interestingly both Chrome and Edge now display correctly. Last night WU took me from build 19042.1237 to 1288, so I'll conclude that as the cause. Only the old versions of Waterfox (2021.01) and Firefox (56.02) still display the unreadable text.

But on my ipad, Safari is fine.

    Baffled so far.

This is Version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.1237)

In Google Chrome I see a Purple background with what seems to be Black text, although it is VERY VERY difficult to see and read. I tried on TWO Laptops and a Desktop for you.

The second one has a Purple background with White text and is fairly easy to read and see.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks Paul, appreciate that fast reply. Pleased to see it's not just me then!

I'll see if anyone else reports seeing the colours correctly, as those GitHub users apparently do.

For me, Edge, Firefox and Chrome (portable) all display the back colour and text properly (ie. purple background with white text).

    Thanks, that reinforces the puzzle!

Are all three browsers on a portable device, or just Chrome?

    What is your 10 version?

More feedback from others might accelerate isolating the cause.

I only use Chrome (94.0.4606.54) in Portable mode. Windows version is Pro 21H1 (19043.1288).

It is a dark blue background, however there is such a high degree of JPEG compression artefacts that it is impossible to tell what the font colour is.

The second one down the page with white text does not have the JPEG compression.

Exactly the same in Edge, Chrome and IE 11.

It illustrates incorrect use of JPEG format image and compression on text.

The second one down is saved as a PNG format, much better for a screenshot of text.

My colour vision is normal, and the screen is broadly calibrated correctly.
Some LCD panels do have a rather purply looking blue so that is just what a particular user has.

Terry: do you want to know the colours we see on your comment (as you linked, posted as a jpeg image), or the original page here

My response was wrt to the original page.

The latter, I.e. the original page. I can barely read the black text on that dark bacground, but others see it like the original.

(My post on that page included my screenshot of that.)
