I was a Microsoft MVP, and Windows Insider MVP. And a long time Windows 10 supporter. Also a long time member of the Windows 7 and Windows 8 forums. I use both Windows and Linux. They each have there pluses and minuses. As near as I can remember I have never touted one as the answer for the other.
Lately I have become disenchanted with the way Microsoft has gone, which was why I dropped out of the MVP program. I still use Windows on my daily driver and offer support when I can. I just find it really hard to get enthused like I was in the past. These days unfortunately I lurk a lot more than I post.

That is all good Linux is a good OS. But like I said it's not a "fix" to install Linux for a issue. If I was a moderator I would delete that message. But anyway thanks for the reply.

If your machine is not compatible how did you get it to install? I already know some tricks to do this. Just asking you how you did it.

For the first install a few weeks ago, during the install process, I deleted appraiseres.dll from the boot files on C: The method is well documented on the Windows 11 Forum. Look for "Installation on incompatible hardware."

It's been running beautifully. Mind you, the only thing I didn't have on that machine was an 8th generation CPU. Mine on that PC is 7th.

OK Well there is also a way to take a Windows 11 USB and a Windows 10 USB. Open the Windows 11 USB delete install.esd and replace with install.esd on the Windows 10 USB.

You'll find that that, too, is documented ad nauseam on the Windows 11 Forum. Give it a look, especially the posts from a month back. Installation, Updates and Activation | Windows 11 Forum

It's possible to upgrade or clean install Windows 11 after the windows update agent finds unsupported TPM, Legacy, MBR, CPU, etc.

The aim that Microsoft has in Windows 11 is to markedly improve performance and security.

They selected OEM hardware that will have DCH drivers.

For insiders Microsoft found that supported computer configurations were over 99% crash free.

For those that use Windows 11 in the unsupported manner it is unclear whether this can be achieved.

Some people do not want Windows 11 that is the point of this thread. We want the message gone and not flashed in our face.
And we not not want forced upgrade.

If I could run it, I'd likely give it a look see. I can't, as that message states. That's fine, I've been advised, now bugger off (Microsoft) and leave me alone.

People just don't get it. We do not want to upgrade. And I already know the trick for unsupported hardware. I know a better trick than the reg hack.
