Sounds like a good idea, however, my line-of-business applications will not run on Linux--not even in a Windows VM. I guess I should install Linux and not do my work? Oh yea, for stuff that will run, I can see something going wrong during a presentation to the higher-ups where I could have blamed some glitch on Windows or Office. If I'm on Linux, I'll look foolish and be questioned about what the heck I'm doing. A good way for some folks to get fired.

I am wondering is Microsoft is going to force this Upgrade? If I turn off TPM in BIOS I get a red x message not compatible. I do not want a forced upgrade to Windows 11. Is it safe to turn off TPM so I will not get forced upgrade I do not want?

I hope you are right and I hope someone comes up with a way to hide the message.

Just want to go on the record that my non-compat machine that has been running 11 for over a month now (and got the update on PT) gets no warning of any kind (at least yet.

That's easy to say, but for a lot of people, not so easy to do. Especially if you grew up using Windows day in day out.
I have 2 dozen plus Raspberry Pi's running Linux. They can't run Windows, but that's not why I run Linux on them. I can't do what I do on them, in Windows. The same holds true the other way around. Especially in a business environment. IMHO your trading on can of worms for another.

It is also not a "fix" and was a ridiculous' reply. Some Linux freak trying to troll a Windows forum.

I was a Microsoft MVP, and Windows Insider MVP. And a long time Windows 10 supporter. Also a long time member of the Windows 7 and Windows 8 forums. I use both Windows and Linux. They each have there pluses and minuses. As near as I can remember I have never touted one as the answer for the other.
Lately I have become disenchanted with the way Microsoft has gone, which was why I dropped out of the MVP program. I still use Windows on my daily driver and offer support when I can. I just find it really hard to get enthused like I was in the past. These days unfortunately I lurk a lot more than I post.
