Window 10's application icons changed to blank in taskbar

Hi guys,

For the past week now, This has been driving me nuts. I have been trying my best to figure out where the problem lies. Yet. I am still lost!

However, I did realize at some point, that the cause of this, might have being to do with figma, while i was working with app, dragging over something on the desktop which lead to the change of file associated with everything on taskbar and startup menu program

This may give you clear picture of whats going on

I followed BRINK's tutorial on reset to default of the icon, I wasn't able to get it back to the normal setting.
Also, I tried to go into windows repair, however the message was generic "...couldn't repair your pc".
I took the initiative to update windows (Cumulative update KB4023057), still didn't fix it.

I am running out of ideas . If anybody can share their insight, I would greatly appreciate any response to the problem.


After a long grueling trial and error, finally found the solution to the problem which was right infront of me. I should have paid close attention to Brink tutorial, I followed the option two to Restore specific file type " where I replacing with the current ink with the one provided in the list. Right there, it magically restore the icons. Thank you!

Would anyone about to tell me if Repair Window fix the problem? Will Repair Windows make everything into default?
