    Keyboard behavior

Hello!Do you know if the behavior of the keyboard can be changed? When the Shift + 2 key is pressed, @ is displayed.I would like to change, namely when I press Shift + 2 to display 2 and when I simply press key 2 to display @.

As an example, if I swap my keyboard layout to be US rather than UK, then SHIFT 2 -> @

If I swap my keyboard layout to be UK, SHIFT 2 -> "

As I have these layout installed (see Settings...) I can readily swap them using the 'input indicator' as its termed in System Icons in Settings in the tray, or if not visible, also using Win key + SPACE to toggle the options.

To add a keyboard layout see

    Options...

or see the relevant teforums tutorial.

Key functions can also be swapped with certain 3rd party utilities, and Autohotkey, a free scripting language (two short lines needed in this case).

the swapping of the actual functionality of the key to swap the action of the shift key on just one key would have to be done programmatically, maybe with something like AutoIT

I cannot see any point in this and not sure what knockon issues it would cause, any application that expected the key to send a specific code on that keypress would not work correctly

There are keyboards that have key remapping built in, My Logi MX keys has an option to set the function keys to produce the standard or a special set of functions and a key combination to swap between. you also see similar function on laptop keyboards - these options are to add special keys rather than a seemingly pointless reversal of one regular key, but it's possible once you learn the coding
