Need help with Windows 8 laptop not connecting to internet..

..and I've gone through a tutorial, didn't work. I've run troubleshooting on the laptop, tried checking Network adapters, several things I've found on the internet and here, to solve the issue. The laptop is older but seems to be in super, good shape in all other ways, but I am missing something that is blocking it from connecting either hardwiring, or wifi and two different networks that both connect to other devices perfectly.

So many things could be done, update mainly I'm sure the owner is behind on, but no internet, and I don't know that that is the issue.

Thank you for explaining this, I thought there must be a way but I honestly didn't think of this. I will check the device and network drivers now!

This is a Windows 8, Version 6.3 (build 9600) Apologies for not listing this info at the beginning:

It's an HP Notebook 2000 PC

I can't get into system information to find out what all it has in it.

Edit: Wow, not one yellow flag anywhere I was hoping it was that as I can fix that easily I'll go check out the win 8 forum and let you guys know how I do

From the ipconfig/all, I see that maybe the LAN Adapter needs to be reconnected, but I can't do it on this laptop without internet, which doesn't make sense to me. There must be an offline way?

I also see I can't even get to the System Restore Point but get this error message instead:

nevermind, I can't upload a pic of the error message but, it says:

You can try to reset the TCP/IP stack.

Open an Elevated command Prompt:

Code:

netsh winsock reset catalog
netsh int ipv4 reset
netsh int ipv6 reset

And Reboot the computer.

I tried something that had like 5 entries with netsh, but yours is different so I will try it now I'll let you know how I do Denise

EDIT: Ok attaching the results, and restarting now to see what happens Well, I can't upload anymore files here, not sure what that issue is. Restarting now I forgot to ask what I should try after it restarts? I'm not tracking very well, I've tried so many things, apologies, Denise

There lies the issue, there is no way I've found to connect to the internet, on two, different apartments/routers.

I cannot pull up Networks and sharing. The network icon shows a red X. So does the Audio icon. I'll attach pics. Again, I've tried hardwiring with ethernet cable, different apartments (2) and all the other things I've tried and listed. I can't get into somethings because they require either side-loading drivers (but there are no yellow flags in device manager/network adapter) so why do that.

Nothing is working so far

Does anyone know why I can't upload anymore snips?? Trying to show you guys but can't get them to upload?
