    Someone who can work a keyboard


    Hello.

    I'm playing DoOm 2 in Dosbox and I play keyboard only,

    It's very tough. Yes, of course I'm playing UV100.

    When I strafe with ALT + ARROW
    and hit CTRL to shoot

    The combination rotates my screen 90 degrees. Usually when I'm strafing and shooting it's because I'm dodging fireballs. So this causes me to take direct hits. Bad news. I've learned to hit the same key combo plus UP arrow to reset but by then I'm wasting ammo by spamming CTRL and taking more hits, sometimes it ends my whole game.

    I would like to disable this feature of CTRL + ALT + ARROW which causes my screen to rotate.

    Problem number 2 is that the WIN key is between CTRL and ALT so if I'm not careful and my finger slips I'll open the start menu and then DOS is pushed into the background or whatever and I have to alt tab alt Enter to get back to the game ... again, this only happens while actively fighting. Major suck.

    Hi, it's easy to disable hotkeys or reassign them with a tiny script in Autohotkey (free), for example.
    There are also some 3rd party programs which might help.

    Example:
    How to Prevent the Windows Key, Alt+Tab, and Sticky Keys From Ruining Your Gaming

    You would simply launch the tiny script just before your game, then terminate it afterwards.
