    Windows 10 scaling issues

Whenever I lock my PC and turn my monitors off, and then turn them on later the scaling of windows 10 is messed up for me. The search bar for cortana, along with the menu that accompanies it is offscaled and has a weird look. Below you can see part of the issue I am having, I use 125% scaling on 2/3 of my monitors (1440p), and then 100% scaling on my 1080p monitor. I notice that when I turn my monitors back on, all my applications tend to go to the 100% scaling monitor. I am unsure if this causes the rest to unscale, The applications are still scaled, but it is mainly the windows search bar and other windows features which are unscaled.

You can see the windows search bar is wider than what it is searching and is unscaled, and you can see the blank space in the scaling of the searched features. This has been happening since I clean installed windows. I have the most upto date windows 10 home edition, and GPU drivers.

it seems to scale the windows search bar and accompanying features to 100% after locking my pc and turning my monitors off. The temporary fix which I have been using is changing my main display monitor (the one having the issue) to a 2nd monitor and swapping it back. This fixes the issue temporarily.

What is the Make and Model # of your GPU (Video Card)? Are you using an adapter on the video cable?
How do you connect the 1080p Monitor? is it via HDMI, Display Port, etc? If the the 144p monitors are connected via DP, and the 1080p monitor connects via HDMI, HDMI would always connects as the Default monitor in the Bios. If possible, change the type of connection cable to DP, or reset the Refresh Rate to something lower.

My gpu is a 2080 OC edition from MSI, I have DP cables for 2 of my monitors, and a VGA for the 1080p monitor. I have also been experiencing applications opening on a ghost monitor, or a monitor which doesnt exist and I am unable to move the application to a main monitor without reinstalling it entirely (happened for multiple applciations). both of these issues only started to happen after I reinstalled windows.

There is no monitor which it opens on, I see the application opening and it isnt visible on any monitor. Ive tried a multitude of options (resizing my zoom, changing res. win + d, Moving it, Win + arrow keys, unplugging and replugging my monitors in

Right click a blank space on the desktop and choose Display Settings. Press the Identify button to see which monitors are identified as. You can drag the monitors around to he configuration you want. Select the Monitor you want to be your Main monitor and put a check in the box Make this my main display, if the monitor is selected and that box is greyed out, then it is already the main display.

I have already done this, I have it setup in a normal way. I've ran through multiple troubleshooting methods for around an hour with an experienced windows support technician, and we were unable to resolve the issue. I still am experiencing the issue unfortunately, I have tried every basic way which is on the web to resolve the issue and none have resolved it. I have also tried using a windows iso to repair the system. I believe my windows maybe corrupted, which would require me to do a factory reset and I do not want to lose all my data after just doing a clean reset when I got my new M2 drive. If it comes to that, I think I might wait for windows 11 to upgrade to it and hopefully fix the issue
