    Windows features questions (win10Pro)

Ok, I bought win10 Pro so I could use Hyper-V. I turned on Hyper-V Management Tools and Hyper-V Platform (6 checkboxes).
Later, I noticed further down in the list:
Virtual Machine Platform and Windows Hypervisor Platform
I can't find a description from Microsoft. Even before I added these two features, I had already created and ran VMs for Ubuntu and Linux Mint.
So why do I need these two? Anyone have a link into Microsoft's site regarding explanations for all the optional features?

winver: Version 21H1 (OS Build 19043.1237)

Here's the relevant part from that helpful link

Virtual Machine Platform - Is part of the native virtualization system offered by Microsoft.
Not very informative, coming from Microsoft. I turned it back off and will wait to see if when I install Ubuntu or Kali if WSL requires it.

Windows Hypervisor Platform - an API (Application Programming Interface) that is used by other third-party virtualization software, such as VirtualBox or Android emulators.
Since I am using Hyper-V for virtualization, I believe I don't need this either.

I had done some more research after I first posted the topic, but all I found were people speculating. No authoritative answers.
