How to stop programs running in administrator mode via REG KEY?

    Hello.

I ran some scripts a while back on my laptop to make it run more efficient and it actually worked. Less processes etc.

However I have 1 small issue.

All my software starts in Admin Mode automatically. If I go and un=check "Run as Administrator" it does absolutely nothing. Still starts in admin mode.

I am am musician and I use FL Studio 20 as my DAW and apparently it can cause some issues when running it in Admin mode. On their website it shows the obvious how to un-check "Run as Administrator" in properties but that doesn't work for me since I ran scripts.

Anyone has any idea where I would be able to change that?

I will re-install my windows if all else fails, I just got a lots of plugins and files so I want to see if it's possible maybe to fix it before doing a fresh install.

I followed a youtube tutorial and I made a registry back up but apparently I cannot find it.

    Thanks for reading everything.

I found a command online for regkey something RUNASDMIN but how about DONT run as admin reg key command?

    Thanks

I found a site that lets you add a context menu that lets you run a program as a non-admin:
How to Run Program without Admin Privileges and to Bypass UAC Prompt? | Windows OS Hub

I'm thinking you can try this method out, if you want:

    Hello @ogquality,
    Welcome to TenForums.

We have Tutorials that will probably do what you want. As a word of advice, if you are NOT familiar with the Registry or RegEdit, then do NOT make ANY changes using third-party tools or utilities.

    I hope this helps.

I've tried it, still opens in admin mode

the daw gave me the same previous warning as pictured

the scripts I ran did some registry stuff so I was wondering if maybe there's some command related to that that would undo that.

Its fine, will eventually reinstall my windows fresh just wanna get my vsts, flps and music sorted first.

    thanks for the replies

By any chance, have you disabled UAC?

If the parent process in elevated, child processes will be automatically elevated.

locate option titled "User Account Control": "Run All Administrators in Admin Approval Mode". Right click on this option and select Properties from the menu. Notice that the default setting is Enabled. Choose the Disabled option and then click OK
