    Dual Boot stops at Post

I have a Dell it was running win 7 and when MS offered free win 10 I D/L it 1607 anniversary edition and I made a 100 gig partition for win 10 it’s been running fine with I’ll now,was in win10 using edge reading news and shut down and the next time I turned the laptop on it shows the post of bios usually it shows choice of 7 or 10 , 7 is the default , but now it just stops at post and doesn’t show the boot manger anymore and I’ve tried using install disk it lights up the dvd but it doesn’t do anything I tried a usb and nothing happens. I had a backup drive I took and cleaned it and installed win 10 on and I have a hard drive case I put in the dual boot in and now I can look at the the dual boot drive . I don’t know how or what to look for but I thought maybe find program that fix the boot manger, I don’t use 10 much but keep it updated 7 is where I have all the info I need to keep so if someone has had boot problems I could use some info . I can’t give a version number cause it won’t boot to any OS I don’t know where to look for the problem

    Try this.

On another pc, install Macrium Reflect Free.

    Create a usb Rescue Drive

Boot from it and select link 'Fix Windows Boot Problems'
If you cannot boot into usb drive, that is more ominous and you may have a more serious problem i.e. mobo failure.

I tried putting install of 10 on usb but it just stops at the post of bios which is odd that it see’s dvd the hard disk mouse but just sits , I can get into bios . I put the dual boot in a external case I had another drive I put 10 on and I can do quick swap if needed. I’ve read that maybe putting easybcd on it not sure how to I can see the drive and I thought maybe windows would fix it but it only found few problems so I tried putting it back in but it still didn’t boot but I will look for what you said and hopefully I get lucky Thank you very much

Can the computer boot to safe mode or boot a USB flash drive?

If it does not POST then see these troubleshooting steps:

Here is what i know (very little ) , mY DELL 1501 laptop has had win7 when it came out when MS gave win 10 away free I D/L it had H/D split and I've had 7 and 10 since 10 came out, I usually use win7 but once a week or 2 I use win10 keep updated . I was updating 10 when it was done I shut it down and the next time I turned it on it shows the screen showing what memory (4gigs) what H/D and the built in mouse and it usually goes to a screen ask which OS I want to boot into (win7) is the default and it boots win 7, but now it just sits at the first screen that shows all the hardware and does nothing else, I've tried putting in disk 7 and 10 on disk the drive spins up the green light flashes but does nothing else, I tried usb drive with win 7 and win 10 nothing happens, I've tried F12 to boot one time nothing happens, I can get into BIOS I've changed to boot from dvd nothing the drive works light flashes but goes no further. (I did this after I killed friends computer)> I have an external case that I put the dual boot H/D into and I had a extra H/D that I installed in laptop and installed win10 on. Someone at work gave me a copy of easybcd which I installed on friends computer and now I lost that friend when I some how killed his computer. so I've installed the win10 H/D in laptop,,, plugged in the external case that has Dual boot and laptop will NOT BOOT shows the info of H/Ware but just sits, if I unplug the EXT H/D it boots to the new H/D I installed and I can plug in the external H/D it see's it I thought I'd D/L the info from win 7 and start over but it does not show all the files so I cant do that.
To answer your question it does Not make beep sounds, it doesnt flash any message's just sits does nothing. I can swap drives fairly easy. I was told to install Reflect I've D/L it but I don't have a clue as to HOW TO USE IT, it has a tell all but I dont know what its talking about I'm clueless, I was hoping for program that would install a new copy of the Boot for the dual boot and I could get all the documents off , Is there program for idiots that does only one thing put the boot menu back on my dual boot , I have very little knowledge of computers programs or how to use them Thank you for asking
