Up till recently, I've had my PC (GTX1070, ryzen 3600, 16gb RAM) connected* to my TV (Sony x900h, running at 4k60Hz, connected via HDMI 2.0). I had no issues, mouse movement and scrolling/moving windows and stuff looked fluid. However, I recently bought a new dedicated monitor (Dell S2721DGF), which I connect to via displayport and run at 1440p@144Hz. Currently the monitor is set as the primary and the TV as my secondary monitor.

Ever since I connected the monitor, I've noticed that mouse movement/scrolling (or any sort of motion) looks very jittery and doesn't flow smoothly. I've confirmed via the nvidia control panel that the TV is displaying 4k60hz. Now the simple answer is that in comparison to 144hz on my monitor, 60hz on the TV is always going to look jittery and that I'm just used to the monitors smooth motion. However, I rarely actually use the monitor (I only use it to for data analysis/work stuff) and primarily use the TV for general use like browsing the internet, watching videos** etc., so doubt I simply got used to the 144hz smoothness. Furthermore, IMO the perceived difference between 120/144hz and 60hz is much smaller compared to the difference between 60hz and 30hz, so I'd be surprised if my problem was simply perception.

* note that my PC is actually connected to my AVR (yamaha rx-v585) which is then connected to the TV via eARC. However, this shouldn't cause any issues as this was my setup before I got the monitor and I had no issues

** Its difficult to compare whether videos are affected by this motion issue, as I rarely watch videos on my PC (usually just cast stuff from my phone to the TV or use PLEX) but it appears that videos looked worse than they used to prior to getting the monitor.

thanks

Windows version number: Will update post and add this ASAP when I get home from work
