How do I delete the files in my personal folder & replace w/ my own?

I want to delete the default personal folders because I want to change their icons but when I do this they come back... (oddly they are able to come back even if I already have a folder with that exact same name already in the folder) does anyone know how to remedy this I know it's an odd question.

    There's a tutorial for this...

What do you mean "delete the default personal folders"? Are you talking about Documents, Pictures, Videos, etc? These are an integral part of the Windows installation and OS, deletion could cause system failures.

Where do you want to delete them from - appearing as listed in Explorer under This PC? Quick Access? From the directory location C:\Users\{username}\ (In any case, no way for the latter)

Moving them, on the other hand, can be done but must be done systematically (not Just Cut/Paste).

You would be better advised to create your own folders. You can add those to libraries if you wish, or even create your own libraries.

The default folders are often used by programs you install- a good number create folders in Documents/Pictures etc and use those as working space. Trying to hack or delete the default folders could cause problems.

Considering their icons, the change I made is non-invasive:

I applied a large package of Vista icons using Stardock's Curtains (small charge).

I want to remove them from my personal folder and replace them with ones of the same name but different icon.

Thank you so much for your reply.

In addition to (unacknowledged) comments above see:

Below the main text is a set of links to tutorials including those for changing the icon for other such folders.

You may be able to change the icon for these folders (as you can for other non-system user folders) but you certainly can't delete and replace the folder(s). As mentioned above, user system folders are an integral part of the Windows installation and OS, and removal can cause system failure.

But, experiment cautiously. What looks like a good icon graphic .ico file can often become just a coloured blob when reduced to the size of a folder icon. And if the source/location of the icon graphic is changed (i.e. moved or deleted), the folder loses that image.

Some icons can be changed via Start - Run:
    Code:
    rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL desk.cpl,,0
But as @dalchina has pointed out, the rest is fairly easy.
