My brother sadly hung himself monday and I need to access his laptop to see if he messaged anyone before he did it. When I turn it on it comes up with enter pin. I've tried every one I can think of. Is there anyway to get round this without deleting all the contents of the laptop please. I know this may be a weird request but I need to know what drove him to do what he did. Dont you have a local IT person that can do this for you the problem iss you can find sites that will tell you BUT its often false and you will be hacked or infected
I understand you're in a tragic situation and my sincere sympathies.
But there are both ethical and possibly legal implications in your request. Ethics, in allowing someone to access someone else's property and/or personal information, and legally (depending on laws) the device may be part of the deceased estate, and providing access could also access financial and intellectual property.
Having the information you've given (and I commend you for being truthful) it would be unwise for anyone here to provide you with the direction or instructions that you seek.

I've done it but it required a few-hundred-dollar technician-only program. A question, do you know his E-Mail information, maybe his ISP provides a Webmail/Online connection but you'd need that login information, maybe he wrote it down somewhere?
