    Trouble Putting PC to Sleep

My Windows 10 PC refuses to stay in sleep mode when I select Start > Power > Sleep. When I try to go into sleep mode, the PC does go into sleep, but only for about 1 second before it wakes itself up.
    My PC stats are:

    • Motherboard: ASROCK Z270 Extreme4
    • CPU: Kaby Lake 7700K
    • RAM: 32gb
    • O/S: Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit, build 19043.1202

The following is a list of things I've already done to get this PC to sleep, all unsuccessfully. I'm out of options at this point.

    • Device Manager > Mice > Properties > Power Management
      • Allow this device to wake the computer: Unchecked

Device Manager > Network Adapters > Properties (for each adapter) > Power Management
      • Allow this device to wake the computer: Unchecked

      Screen Saver: None

If you want computer to sleep shouldn't 'Allow Hybrid sleep' be 'On', not 'Off'?

This is a public forum. It is natural for opinions to differ. I disagree strongly with the notion that the hybrid sleep setting has got anything to do with the problem.

@Try3 - I find it odd that you write "This is a public forum. It is natural for opinions to differ." since it is a superfluous statement. I have no problem with "I disagree strongly" but it sounds as if you are upset? I was only trying to help. I'll unsuscribe from this thread now.

    Ken,

Yes. I sometimes think that certainty can only be achieved when you're face to face with someone so you can see the reds of their eyes.

    All the best,

    Jay,

Do post back when you've done the 'other user' & Safe mode tests.

Just to get you a step ahead, since we're in different timezones:-
    - If the problem disappears in Safe mode then I'll suggest reinstalling your display driver.
    - If the problem is the same for the other user then you might find examining Event viewer records sheds more light on the situation.

    Best of luck,

Also, what were the results for Sleep after booting to Safe Mode? For this test, I would recommend setting the Power Plan Sleep timeout to 1 minute.

What are the results of Sleep via Win X, u s?

As my system is also a Kabylake H270, so close to yours in spec as I also have a GTX1080, my settings differ as follows, all others are the same...! I think!

    CPU C states: Disabled
    CFG Lock: Disabled

SATA Aggressive Link Power Management: Disabled

Sleep > Allow Hybrid Sleep: On

Power Plan is set to High Performance

Screen off 2 hours, sleep after 3 hours

Device Manager > Mice > Properties > Power Management
Allow this device to wake the computer: Checked

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>powercfg -a
The following sleep states are available on this system:
    Standby (S3)
    Hibernate
    Fast Startup

    Hope this helps.
