You could use CPU-Z to stress the CPU. CPU-Z | Softwares | CPUID
Do you recall why Asrock suggested that you get a discrete sound card? The onboard Realtek sound device is very common.

bobkn,
Yes. I was having issues with sound that turned out to be an easy fix - switch out my keyboard... but after many driver changes and resetting my PC, ASROCK told me that my Mobo was not compatible with Windows 10 and I needed a dedicated Sound Card if I wanted to get the sound working. The tech, sorry, was an idiot. I should not have listened to him. The onboard sound is good enough for me. The Sound Blaster is better but I would much prefer to have a stable system than a little bit, better sound.
Not compatible with Windows 10?
Odd, since they make Windows 10 X64 drivers available for download for it. The Realtek driver is at the top of the list.
I've managed to mostly avoid audio driver issues by using desktop speakers with a USB connection. No special drivers.
Agree.. it was total BS.

Thanks. I figured as much but I could not work out where the downloadable executable was.

So day 3 and the PC is running fine. I have restarted it, let it run, etc and no issues. I am about 80% sure it was that rotten Sound Blaster Card. Sigh. Oh well. Its onboard audio for me. Not that I mind. The onboard audio is fine.
