If you don't want the Microsoft News App:
How to uninstall Microsoft News App in Windows 10? - Auslogics blog.
Not only is the fan running but the bottom back of computer and keyboard is hot. So what good is the fan anyway? Sorry, just annoyed and concerned.

Pepanee, If I remove news it says calendar app will be removed too. Is that what tells me the time and date and shows a calendar if clicked on at the menu bar on bottom right that has been there since I've had the computer?
I honestly don't know. I guess keep it on the computer, since I don't want it to interfere with other apps being uninstalled too.
I use a third party calendar which sits on my desktop, so my events wouldn't by accident get interfered with if the computer crashes or something.
Maybe someone else has other suggestions on what you can do. Hope you find the solution soon.
Thanks, Pepanee. The IT person told me to bring it in :)
Jonnied12, my power plan is set at balanced. Things settled down since I started this thread, after an hours' time. Starting out quietly today. CPU at 3%. Will see how this plays out. Thanks.
