MS's health check compatibility app is back as of a couple of days ago, so you might be able to try that.

This also gives a free 3rd party tool which may provide more info.

The compatibility criteria are available for you to peruse. These include which processors are suppported for example.

thank you very much for that answer.
unfortunately, my computer doesn't meet these requirements; I'll have to stick with Windows 10.

    gabriėl,

I suggest that, after Windows 11 is released, you keep an eye on ElevenForum for compatibility issues such as workarounds.

Bear in mind that there may be changes to specs prior to release- which might be early next year- however if there's major non-conformance you might not be lucky. However, the'y've just reintroduced the conformance checker after some months, so you might think they've thought about this.

Further, Win 10 is supported until well into 2025, and it's generally best to steer clear of new MS things.

Having tried Win 11 on a VM, I don't like it or see any advantages. Its major advantage is supposed to be increased security, but they've left in the problems with Windows search they introduced when they hacked it from build 1909.

The installation checks are applied by Win 11's installer, rather than being a requirement for Win 11 to run.

That alone is enough to say that the processor is a 4th gen Intel i3, and does not meet the supported processor specs for Windows 11. An 8th gen or later is the minimum requirement. A very few 7th gen have just been added to the list, but it's almost certain nothing older will get in by the release date.

Most of my machines are below spec too, but as W10 is supported until 2025, with a new feature update 21H2 due out shortly, that's not really a problem. They can stay on W10.

thanks very much for these responds.
If my PC is indeed not up to the task of running Win 11, I will hold on to Win 10 which I find more than adequate.
We will seen after 2025 what will happen.
    much appreciated, gabriėl

Check the below article which states you can try by downloading the Win11 ISO or joining the Insider Program. But if your system does not meet requirements, at this time it will not be supported by Microsoft.

Seems to be similar to users who still run Win7 in relation to support. If someone wants to be adventurous they can give it a shot.

Beware: if you install Win 11 on your PC by such means, there is no guarantee whatsoever that, come the official release in October, you will be able to continue to use and upgrade Win 11. MS has said this.

Remember. It's an Insider build. And hacking an Insider build puts you at further risk.
