It's definitely a scam, I normally ask what they are wearing and let it go down hill from there
LOL. I'll try to keep that in mind for the next time IF I have time to "fool" with them!

Some times I'll just say Computer? I don't own a computer. Long silence, click. Or oh, you work for Microsoft too. Quick click. If I'm in a bad mode I'll try to keep them on the line as long as possible and act like I haven't a clue how a computer works.

Also, don't believe Caller ID labels, they can be spoofed (made to show false info).

It happened to me a few years ago
What I did was picked up the phone and said thanks for calling and I kept them on the phone for about 30Min going threw a long problem that I did not have; then I said go to hell and I slammed the phone down.
They never called me back that was a few years ago when I had a Spoofed HP Tech Support Case Manager calling me and I knew it was not them because I had already settled my problem with the case manager two weeks before that.

There goal is to get Credit Card Numbers and other stuff so be careful
and what I would do since they are impersonating a company like that I would contact MS and let them know so they can take action if needed.
I did that with HP and they logged it for me
